Based on the original 1987 mastertapes used for “The Later Years”, Andy Jackson set about remixing and updating the recordings with David Gilmour and assisted by Damon Iddins. The album will be available on vinyl, CD, DVD, Blu-ray and digitally with stereo and 5.1 mixes.
The release of “The Later Years” project in 2019 provided an opportunity to revisit the album “A Momentary Lapse Of Reason”, originally released in 1987. By going back to some of the original keyboard takes by Richard Wright and re-recording the drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin were able to create a better creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members.
The remixed and updated “A Momentary Lapse Of Reason” album also holds a new album cover, featuring an alternate bed photo of Robert Dowling from the original cover shoot directed by the late Storm Thorgerson, who passed away in 2013.
