The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation – Doctor Dunbar’s Presciption (LP, Not Bad)

Klapp-Cover 180gr LP Das zweite, 1968 aufgenommene Album hat wesentlich spontanere Zuge, obwohl es ebenfalls von Ian Samwell produziert wurde. Man hatte einfach keine Zeit fur langes Proben, denn es war wichtiger, auf Tour live zu spielen. Aufgrund dessen klangen die Songs dann auch geradliniger und direkter. Der Titel entstand in Anlehnung an einen gewissen Dr Ian Dunbar (nicht verwandt), der als Doktor Cannabis auf Rezept verabreichte, bevor dieses als Droge verboten wurde. The second album recorded in 1968 has a rather spontaneous feel to it, which comes from the fact that, unlike the (also Ian Samwell-produced) debut, it had not been possible to take time off the road to routine it. Hence the songs were rather more straightforward in nature. Its title was a sly reference to Dr Ian Dunbar, an (unrelated) doctor who had prescribed cannabis as a medicine in the late Sixties before it was classed as a banned substance.
