For this recording of the Great Jazz Trio, leader Hank Jones is accompanied by Ron Carter and Tony Williams. The recordings were made on two evenings in the New York jazz club Village Vanguard in 1977. An expressive introduction with Charlie Parker’s Moose the Mooche is followed by the wonderful Coltrane ballad Naima. Claus Ogerman’s Favors can be heard here in an extended version and the conclusion is Ron Carter’s bluesy 12 + 12.
